encoder or shift motor?????

I have a 1999 Blazer, 4wd, four button electronic shift. Mine was stuck, would'nt shift( transfer case), had ABS problems. Pissed me off so it sat for over a year. Just took it to get fixed, scanned it. Came back right front wheel sensor, for the ABS. Put new hub on. The front differential actuator cable was stuck in place, engaging the front end, but not the transfer case. Put on new cable. Thought it was all taken care of, when I got it back. Tried the auto 4wd button, got stuck on it. I couldn't change it back to 2hi.

Anyway, I could shift it between 2hi, 4hi, 4lo...no problem. Soon as I tried auto 4hi, service 4wd light came on, and it stuck. So I figured, screw the auto 4hi. Took it back to get scanned, he said it came up (General Malfunction), and showed No Data for all entries. My service engine soon light is on too.

I heard it could be control module, encoder motor etc..... What is everybody's opinion on this? Also by the way....is the encoder motor and the shift motor the same thing? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm just about at the end of my wits here.

Re: encoder or shift motor?????

If switching normally into 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo works fine but auto doesn't, most likely it's the TCCM
