New here, and I need advice

Hey all
I recently bought a 2001 Z28 and I am very happy with it. However, I must admit that I only know the very basics about looking under hoods, exhaust etc. The car itself is completely stock aside from the stereo system, tint, and ground effects.
In short, I just want some hints, suggestions, whatever, that can get my car to a level where I dont gotta worry about some rice burner embarassing me. This hasnt happened yet, and I sure dont plan on it

I guess I meant more specifically, given a 01 z28, what are some of the common upgrades that people usually start off with?

Re: New here, and I need advice

Perhaps I should rephrase my question to this: If you were gonna put down 1000 bones to mod this car, what would be on your list, to include particular brands

Re: New here, and I need advice

well 1000 would get you a couple of things possibly.... 700 for a borla or gmmg catback (top of the line) 400ish for a mid range exhaust magnaflow etc.... headers you can get as cheap as maybe 400 with Ypipe for lets say a pacesetter setup but you can spend a grand for Kooks ...... rear end gears i think cost around 300ish and you have a few choices depending on wheather your driving an auto or manual.... intakes are made by all different companys you just need to shop around looking at parts... the general conception is the more they cost the better the product so go by that....

Re: New here, and I need advice

Lid and catback for now. $500.
Any lid, Magnaflow catback.
Port and polish the stock throttle body. $100
UMI subframe connectors. $270

Avoid SLP parts. Overpriced with horrible customer service.
