Re: Battery will not charge

Jump it and take it down to Auto Zone or another parts store that does testing and have them check the alternator, but when you go in make sure you leave it running. One of my friends is having the same problem right now. ill let you know what he finds out....

Re: Battery will not charge

Turn off the engine and measure the voltage at the battery. Should be about 12V.
Start the engine, make sure none of the accessories are on and measure the voltage. Should be 13-14V. If not then the alternator is dead.
Turn on the lights, radio, wipers, interior light,... Measure the voltage. It should be13-14. If not then the alternator is dead

Re: Battery will not charge

Sounds like it's the alternator for sure... Either that or there is a short, or something else constantly draining the battery. Just use a voltmeter to test like mentioned above to diagnose.

Re: Battery will not charge

Chrysler has started putting the Voltage Regulator inside of the PCM.
This could be the problem, not the Alternator.
Have it checked with a scan tool.
If the field circuit is not switching the regulator circuit has failed.
