head lights do out while driving

I have a '91 Aerostar, couple o' years ago the headlights would go out when the high beams were used, so didn't use high beams now driving home last night the headlights were flickering then went out on low beam, after it cooled off was good to go..any ideas? I seem to have miss placed mt Hanes manual.

The headlight switch is in need of replacement. Be sure to check the wiring harness where it plugs into the switch too. Sometimes there are melted connections that need to be addressed. You can get a repair harness from local parts stores now.

I had the same problem with my Datsun. It turned out to be the stalk hi-beam switch.
