Basic 4.2L replacement questions

I am rebuilding a 4.2 V6 in a E250 Van. The engine dropped a valve, so a complete rebuild was the result. Anyway, I am a little new with fords & have a few questions.

#1 the head gaskets are marked right side & left. Is the right side for sure the Passengers side of the block? Right side looking from the rear of the engine? I don't want to install the gaskets backwards & mess up the coolant flow.

#2 Cam sensor adjustment. There is a sensor at the top of the oil pump shaft. Looks to be a cam sensor of some type. How is this adjusted? Can it be dropped on at any position? If so, how does it get adjusted from there?

#3 I didn't pay much attention to the oil pan, but it appears there is no gasket, just silicone?

Any other tips on these engines would be great. I have the engine short blocked right now & am hoping to get the rest together soon!

Thanks

Re: Basic 4.2L replacement questions

all left and right markings are standing at the rear of the vehicle, left is drivers side and right is passengers. That is probably right that the oil pan is silicone. and i think there is a tool that has to be used that the sensor has to be removed from the drive and set into place. better check the manual on that one.
