Question 98 How to find a short?

Well here goes this is my first post here. All my marker lights back-up lights and fog lights work 100% but as soon as I turn my headlights on or they turn themselves on the relay in the dash mounted headlamp switch kicks off. It seems to try and recycle every 10-15 seconds or so but then clicks off immediatly.I removed all the bulbs but that makes no difference. I've visualy inspected as much of the wires as I can see they all look perfect. This is driving me crazy I can only drive sun-up to sun-down. Are there any tricks or logical steps I should follow try to trace a short(I'm asuming that's the problem)
Thanks

Hello. One thing you can start off with is changing the switch or the relay

You might want to check the circuit breaker(controls the 'recycle every 10-15 seconds' you mentioned). In your car, I dont know where it is in your car. Fuse block or in the headlight switch itself? I dont know.
Might also want to check your headlight swith and wires connecting to it if you havent already done so.
