89 4wd bronco II auto trans problem

i put a new flywheel on it and now it will not shift, i noticed a chip in the outer shaft end while i was installing the tork converter. could it be the problem.i checked the modulator and tv cable and adjusted everything i can think of and it still will not shift. the chip is only about a 1/4 inch around and is only back to the small groove in the shaft.any help would be great.

Not to be dumb, but did you fill it properly? The AT won't shift if the fluid level is incorrect. I'm not so sure about the crack.
