Re: Pcv

First go and buy one, then you will know what it looks like. I don'y know what engine you have but I think it will be the only thing that goes through the valve cover other that the fill tube. It will have a hose conected to one end. There are lots of things that can cause rough idle. A bad cap and rotor, weak spark cause by bad wires, spark plugs or a weak coil, water in your gas or a dirty fuel filter. Have you tried a tune up or changed your air filter?

Re: Pcv

I have 2.2L and i found a small hose that is toward the back of the engine on the valve cover and it bends at a 90 we took it off but no valve. I have a brand new air filter and the spark plugs and wires are brand new also. Im sure about the fuel filter though they last for awhile so im not sure that would be it.

Re: Pcv

From what I have found the 2.2 doesn't have a PCV valve. Check out this post on MYS10.com. http://www.mys10.net/showthread.php?...ight=pcv+valve

Re: Pcv

that would makes sense i have that same tube they are talkin about
so im really not sure what would be making it idle like that. This same idling was really bad about jan 3 when it was shaking the truck really violently so ill check on the fuel filter. Do u think that the spark plugs would make it idle rough?

Re: Pcv

There are a lot of things that could do it. I would start by checking the cap and rotor, look for vacumm leaks like cracked hoses. The way I check for leaks is to use a torch like you use in plumbing work. I unscrew the end of the tip and put a piece of rubber hose on it. I then crack the valve and run the hose over the vacumm lines, around the conections and around the base of the carb or injection system, If the idle kicks up you found a leak. Other things you can try: Fuel injector cleaner in the tank, make sure you temp is running where it should be, a cold intake can cause it to run rough. Change your fuel filter. I know mine is in the drivers side frame rail just under the drivers door. Keep us posted if you find your problem and ask if you need more help. If you use the torch method don't open the valve wide open and keep it away from the cap and wires so you don't spark it. It wont explode but you wil get a small flame at the tip. If it does light up just turn off the valve, No big deal but I don't want you to get burnt.
