Re: cold air intake

n/t doesnt matter,i drive one too but that chip is a rookie mistake, i will tell so far the best thing i have done that produced a little extra go was i took out the throttle body which is very easy and went to home depot and bought a dremel used the sander bit and grinded out that lip that is inside it took a little while but when i put it back in it responds alot better and a little more umf.try that its really easy

Re: cold air intake

Yeah the chip is a common rookie "non-searching" mistake. Your going to get a CEL and take it out anyway.

Re: cold air intake

that "chip" is just causing you to get lousy gas mileage because your engine thinks its sucking in really cold air so that it better run pig rich or else it will stall.

Re: cold air intake

A friend of mine got a Venom chip for something crazy like 300 bucks. It has a warning to never turn off while the chip is on and you are driving. Well one day it accidentally happened and now his car runs like crap. I think he ended up spending more fixing the things the chip screwed with on his car instead of the actuall chip. Moral of the story... give your money to me instead of buying a "performance" chip.

Re: cold air intake

a venom chip is somewhat different than a $.02 ebay "chip" resistor. the venom chip will actually give you a bit more performance, but those resistors just fuck with your computer. i wouldn't even waste the time to put it in.

Yes, I know but, we were on the subject of "chips" so I thought I would share my life story.

Re: cold air intake

i know i know...i just wanted to state the fact that not all chips are a waste of money, they're in the category of "you get what you pay for"
