2006 speaker replace

Hello, I was going to replace my stock speaker with stock Bose, but what will it take to do this? Is it just a matter of replacing the speaker ? thanks in advance!

Re: 2006 speaker replace

I was reading more threads about speaker replacement and looks like Bose is 2ohm. Does anyone know if the stock AM/FM/CD in the 2006 Silveraod LT1 would be 2 or 4 ohm ? Thanks !

Re: 2006 speaker replace

So, if I want to just upgrade my speakers, would I need a 4 ohm speaker ? Or would you suggest some good replacement speakers better than stock ?
Thanks !

Re: 2006 speaker replace

I replaced my components up front with Rockford Fosgate Fanatic Qs, which I found online for half the retail price (paid $300 for 'em) and I push 'em with a 100w Alpine amp and they are night and day difference over stock. I don't think I could make it through a day without them. Anything aftermarket will sound better than OEM. Just be sure to research the power that they will need before you buy 'em. Another thing to consider is that if you add an aftermarket system with an amp, you're gonna need a sub to balance everything out.

There are tons of great systems for these trucks. Just do some research to find a 6.5" component system (mids and tweeters). Infinity makes a great system for not too much cash and if you want to go high end, Focal or MB Quart both make a fantastic system...but be prepared to drop 4-500 bucks not including an amp for one of these.

Re: 2006 speaker replace

just remember you pay for what you get in speakers. the more expensive ones generally sound better and last longer than the cheaper ones, go to best buy or circuit city or a local shop and listen to there displays and find something that sounds good to you.
