Re: Engine Swap

now why in the heck would you want to swap a 4.0 for a 3.8 besides nothing would bolt up right if you want an engine swap do the 4.0 to the 4.6 they are the same motor but different bore even the computer is the same with both engines so all you'll have to do is bolt it up. and yes the 96 and the 98 are both obd 2 so you would be able to hook everything right up.

Re: Engine Swap

thought the riviera had superchared 4.0. better to go up to 4.6. or just do intake, exhaust, some computer work. enough power. then do a dodge stealth twin turbo up to 1200 hp. leave the rora as a cruiser with some power.

Re: Engine Swap

Riv is supercharged 3.8. No Northstar in the Riv.
valentino, it would make more sense if you would be informed when you make a post.

Re: Engine Swap

o. thanx for the tip mister perfect. this car is ok. i dont have such a hard-on for it as some purist geeks do. a real car, MOST bang for buck is a 1994-1996 dodge stealth twin turbo all wheel drive, designed properly, not designed by greedy buttholes at some meeting to see how much they can rip people off whenever it has to be serviced. (SENSE)!!!

Re: Engine Swap

dodge stealth is not even in the same class as the Aurora.
The Aurora was awarded "Car of the Decade"

Re: Engine Swap

And the stealth seats how many in stretch-out-your-feet luxurious comfort? oh - NONE that's right.
And:
Heated Seats - NA
Power Passenger Seat - NA
Power lumbar support - NA
Power seat memory - NA
Built-in Programable remote - NA
Dual Climate Control - NA
Climate Control - NA
Auto on-off headlights - NA
Cornering lights - NA
Auto-dimming rear-view mirror - NA
Compass - NA
Power antenna - NA
Driver information center with trip computer - NA
Driver and Passenger Lighted vanity mirrors - NA
Cavernous trunk space - NA
Auto-Leveling rear suspension - NA
Stainless Steel Exhaust - NA

The list is longer but I don't have time.

In all fairness though, the Aurora does not have 4 wheel drive - that would be useful. It does not have 4 wheel steering but I don't think it needs it. The Aurora does not top out at 200 mph but 140 isn't bad.

Personally, the stealth just doesn't fit my family.

Re: Engine Swap

gm could have and should have made this car better. it has a good basic design. needs upgrades. could have supercharged it, 500 hp, could have made it all wheel drive, could have 15" drilled and slotted discs and 6 piston calipers, needs air suspension to bring center of gravity down and be able to adjust. needs 20" wheels, better sound system. or get a mini van. i cant complain too much, got mine (autobahn) for 3 grand. there's little league (mini van look league) or big league (sema show league). goin big league. go big.

Re: Engine Swap

I like people that drive cars like the dodge stealth, because while the state police are busy giving them speeding tickets. I can just zoom by relaxing in my lumbar support, memory seat, listenning to my bose stereo system.
