Does your car idle like it should?

Now I'm curious how many people here have a 4G (or rex) that idles like its supposed to. (750ish)

Mostly I'm bored and wanted to make a poll, but also I'm curious. I don't know if my B16 has ever idled properly since I've got it.

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

I have to set my Idle higher because of the loss in momentum with the lightweight flywheel, so it's not 750 it's up at 950 to 1050rpm.

I can idle at 750, you rev it once and it will stall though.

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

Mine idles at the 750 like its supposed too, but it shakes like a bitch... I think it should be higher because when I lightly touch the gas and it goes upto 900-1000 its fine... I tried to adjust the fast idle but it was a no go...

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

Whats this idle you speak of? I replaced my throttle cable with a rubber band, no idle, but man it saves my right foot alot of work.

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

Mines at around 1200 (according to the tach anyway) and it's usually fine but lately every time I come to an abrupt stop the idle drops to 900rpms and the battery light pops on. I blip the gas and it goes back to normal. It's been pissing me off but I really don't care...

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

mine still needs an idle adjustment since i got the lightweight flywheel, so currently it drop down to like 3-500.....

hmmm..might be a busted motor mount. Mine was like that. I pulled the engine and sure enough, the front mount was broke. I'm pretty sure this was the culprit

Re: Does your car idle like it should?

Well my bro forgot to mention that he had the wrong ecu in the car when he gave it to me so my idle bounces to like 50 at times and my lights get dim and then bounces back up to like 150 and then back down and that continus.......... cant wait for my new engine.. ecu... tranny... every thing ! It will be a little better I hope
