95 windstar abs engaging at wrong time

My van is running great after some repairs to the trans speed sensor but now sometimes when I go to stop it sounds horrible. They did a complete change of my brakes and turned the rotors . We have come to the conclusion that they abs sensor is not right and it thinks we are sliding and it tries to kick in only on one side. When up on a hoist there is a large gear.when you are looking at the inside of the tire. .. it looks like it has a crack in it but yet it is the same thing on the other side. Is this gear supposed to look this way?? If anyone has any other ideas please let me know..
