transmission/clutch

what up all you honda heads,i need a little help I Have a 88-CRX With a B16a v-tech
in it and i was driving one day and it then i heard a pop or a bang after
that noise when i put in gear it would not dirve so i removed the
transmission and the clutch was good. does any know what the
problem is ,could it be the transmission. thanks and happy racing.

sounds like the Diff Blew up. ... but could be the imput shaft... either way start looking for a new tranny. if you have a S1 and want to keep you gearing and such... i would look for a 90-91 LS transmission, all the parts are interchangable, gears diffs... if it's a YS1 or J1 you want to look for a 92-93 LS/RS/GSR tranny all the parts are interchangable.

if the Diff did blow up and there is no damage to the housing you can pickup a 90-01 LS diff and slap it in the tranny.

if you are not comfortable cracking open the tranny (understandable) just swap it out for a compatible unit so you don't have to change the cluthc disk.

what's up i found my problem with the my 88/cr-x the one with the trany/
clutch noise it was the axle it cracked so the when it was in gear
the axle would spin in placed.so i replaced the axle now it works
fine.
