Pics from The IPMS NL Regio Midden Open Day.

The IPMS NL Regio Midden Open Day was a very nice event with a good turnout of car models. The first picture is an overall shot of the car models on show (not contest). Nearest to the camera is our steadfast Ford builder Piet who took 3rd prize in the contest with one of his Fords.

Next to Piet, smiling in the camera is Rinus who took 2nd place with his 1/24 Mercedes CLK-DTM which he entered in the contest at the very last moment!

First place went to Marcel, the proprietor of Raceworld who built a magnificent Ferrari 156/85.

Below some of my models which didn't win. In the pic of the Jordan 191 you can see the green tail of the Jordan 191 entered by Marcel. That one put my effort completely in the shadow. Of course I milked Marcel for all the info regarding spraying automotive paints that I could! The nice thing about these sort of meetings is that everyone gives out hints and tips freely!
The white Formula-1 is my 1/12 Brabham BT-44B. I photocopied the Ferrari 312T4 seatbelts and put those copies in. The buckles were scratchbuilt. I further put in metal-like hoses. Not too shabby for my very first car model finished about 10 years ago...

Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our Open Day. Of course ther were also all kinds of models in the aircraft, military vehicle, ship, and SF/figures categories, but since everyone here particularly loves cars I focussed on that category. Below I'll post some more pics of competition cars found in the show area.

Cheers,
Erik.

Its not much better here either...the last one in the town i live was about 3-4 years ago. The only shows they have are just small club displays at car shows if they get an envite which is not offten .
The club i belong to here has almost fallen over due to lack of numbers....and most that are left just build planes and tanks.
