95 Transmission Limp Mode
I realize that this problem has been gone over many times on this board and I've read many of the posts related to transmission problems but still can't seem to fix mine.
I have replaced both input and output speed sensors and shift solenoid. I read several posts regarding a wiring splice from the factory that can cause the problem I'm having. Is there anyone that can tell me where the splice is or if there is anything internal that can cause these transmissions (A604) to not complete the shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Instead of going into 3rd gear, my transmission shifts to neutral and then when the speed of the vehicle slows it goes into limp mode. Other than this problem, my transmission seems to take gear fine, reverse and drive with no slipping. Also if there is a trouble code stored in the transmission computer does it need to be cleared before it will work properly after changing these parts? If so, how? If this information has already been posted on the board I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to it regarding said splice or any internal problems that can cause this. Thanks for any help! |
