I recently noticed coolant leaking from the left head gasket joint. After speaking with dealer, they advised it's very unlikely that leak is coming from the head gasket. They claim they have seen many leaking from the intake manifold gasket and that it is hard to tell exactly where from until you start engine tear down.
Anyways, The van has 116,000 miles and I'd like some advice from those of you that have worked on your engines on other things I should look at or replace while I have the engine gutted! Fuel regulator, valve lifters, valve seals?? Thanks in advance |

Re: 97 Astro - Intake gasket leaks coolant
first thing buy a service manual.
read it and read it and read it again ... next start your tear down and inspect as you tear down (rather than ripping abunch of stuff off and then inspecting).. once you reach your problem point decide if you can go further, or if you want to go further.. |
