Leaking Tranny Cooler

Just replaced radiator in 89 Cherokee 4.0. The snap-click compression connector on the trans cooler line to the radiator now leaks, quite a bit. Is there a special tool for pressing these together?? I could not get it together with the washer and the two o-rings, not with anything I had on hand. Removed one o-ring, and big time leak. How do we get those connectors tight? Similar connectors on fuel lines are easy. This one is a major difficulty!

Re: Leaking Tranny Cooler

I don't believe there's a special tool to put the quick disconnect connectors back together.... you need one to pull them apart. You may be able to buy a new female side at your local autoparts store or.... simply cut off the leaking connector and use some rubber hose and a couple of clamps.
