Just replaced my third tranny on a 2000 Windstar. All 3 covered. 2 by Ford and One by Aftermarket warranty. Anyway, also neede new cooling line from tranny to cooler.
After work completed, engine was running horribly. Back to dealer and was told that due to an overheating tranny fluid problem, due to bad line, cam syncro is out. Question, possible or is the dealer playing with me.

Re: 2000 Windstar Cam Syncro

Why all of a sudden do you need a cooling line? What is wrong with the one on the van? Was it twisted/bent when the trannie was replaced? If this is true, you shoudn't be paying for the line or labor to replace it. I don't know how a cam syncro could be damaged by overheated trannie fluid. Anyone else have a comment? IMHO if you engine was running fine before you had your tranie replaced it should be running fine now, unless something was damaged during the trannie R&R. Post back. Regards Dan
