Re: Trans Swap

a cable 5 spd d series tranny.....thats about it and some time, ofcourse go ahead and change the clutch and crap while you have it apart, but the tranny is really all you need.

Re: Trans Swap

Pretty sure he'll need the axles and spindles/knuckles from an Si or DX also... I dont think the STD axles will plug into the tranny... I could be wrong tho...

Re: Trans Swap

yes you can swap a 5spd tranny, it's bolt in replacement.

the 4speed has smaller outer joints on the axel and hubs. you can swap everything to a dx/si unit if you like... or just keep what you got... just not quite as strong... if you go FI or nitrous you will want to swap that over ASAP, otherwise, just the tranny as long as it's 89-91, the 88 have a different spline count and will require a different clutch disk.

hope this helps.
