OK, no books or websites or threads seem to cover this. How do I seperate the caliper bracket from the caliper itself? I bought a reman. caliper and it doesn't come with a replacement bracket. I was just goingt o buy a new bracket but apparently the closest bracket is three states away. I need help ASAP! ![]() PS... 1999 Lumina LTZ rear passenger w/discs

Re: remove caliper bracket from caliper!!
THere are two caliper slide bolts with 15mm heads that attach the caliper to the bracket. If they are seized/rusted, you'll need to apply some heat to get them out. Make sure you lubricate the slides to prevent them seizing again. Make sure your new calipers include the bushings, as heat will distort them and they will need to be replaced.

BTW. My brake calipers don't have 15mm bolts. Mine are 12mm for some reason.

Hold on here the caliper is held on by one bolt only, the other is a stationary pin the caliper just slides back off it!
