help choosing a car please!

hello guys,

i am 16, and 17 in october(live in the UK, so i can drive my car then).

i am considering to buy one of the following cars:

honda civic EG/EK VTi (stock equipped with b16a engine)
nissan 200sx s14 (they all come with a sr20det engine here)
nissan 300zx twin turbo

prices of the cars(not the cheapest i could find, but most of them were priced around this)
civic - £1200 - £1600
200sx - £2000 - £2500
300zx - £1500 - £2000(no joke, the twin turbo comes really cheap here, around 50 - 70k miles )

i will probally insure the car on my dads name(i pay the insurance etc, its just 'his' car then) so i dont have to worry about huge premiums.

you guys might think why i putted the civic Vti in aswell. it is front wheel drive etc...but i just like it. its light, quite quick, and better then the 'all show no go' guys here in their 60 hp peugeot thingy.

i prefer the 300zx most, its twin turbo, if i put around £1000 in the car(exhaust, boost to 14psi, turbo timer, some other minor things) it puts out 400 bhp. i checked it on several(expert) website's...and the 14psi is still save to run on the stock turbo's.

the civic would be the best with running costs, but i think the least fun to drive

the 200sx would be average in running costs...but to get it to a drift setup(i intend to go drifting if i go for the 200sx) i need to put £3k in the car.

the 300zx, would be quite expensive in fuel, but i dont need to drive far everyday(3 miles to school, with the turbo timer installed it wont hurt the turbo's). in weekends some times a bit further to go and play rugby, take the girl friend somewhere... i think in the 300zx i have the most leg room aswell(i have to do something about the seats in any car anyways, im 6'8'' and still growing ).

i have to drive on B-roads( 1 lane roads, through fields etc) most of the time, so i can use a turbo while overtaking people(a lot of old granny's drive here with 30 mph, if you're stuck behind one it takes forever).

Anyways, i hope you guys can give me a bit help with choosing the car, and give me a bit of advise aswell.

I am a dear civic fan, but for that price I will go for a 300zx. It will cost you a lot more to mod a civic to get to that stage. But of course if you are looking for a reliable economic car, then go with a civic.

Re: help choosing a car please!

thanks for the reply.

i love civics to bit aswell. but the ZX is so much fun aswell. if i have a civic, i would probally start modifying it quite fast, if i have the ZX i would probally just go for an exhaust for a bit performance, build some driving experience up, and i can just make some mild changes to the exterior/interior.

i dont want to pump to much money in my car, because its a first one you know...+ supra's and skylines come cheap aswell(supra £5000 for a TT, skyline GTS-T(single turbo, rwd) £2500 for an R33)...

offcourse the supra's and skylines are a bit expensive and for to powerful as a first. i might buy one as soon as i can (when i have 1 car already), declare it offroad for an X period of time, and modify that one, so i can keep the other one as a daily driver.

honestly i cant even tell which one to pick because theyre all good cars...a lot of people have told me that a 300ZX is a bitch to work with even though it is a bad ass car...i think you could do the most in the 200SX though...be fast on the straight and be able to drift and very fun to drive
