Oh man, found something even better about the Aries.
The Aries was powered by a then-new 2.2 L I4 SOHC engine, with a Mitsubishi "Silent Shaft" 2.6 L as an option (curiously this engine also featured hemispherical combustion chambers, and all 1981 Aries equipped with it featured "HEMI" badges on the front fenders. haha, I can see that redneck guy who does the hemi commercials doing one for an Aries

did it seriously say 22hp? how is it possible to make a engine that bad?? it probably doesnt even get good gas milage because u need to floor it all the time.

It doesnt actually have 22 hp, that stuff was put there as a joke. It was either a real dodge commercial that got dubbed over, or the whole thing was made as a joke. Did you see the website at the end? curious thing to have back in 1988

A little more trivia for you guys
the plymouth reliant, which is basically the same car (k platform) was the inspiration for the christian pop/punk group reliant k. Never heard of them tho, probably cause all i listen to is emo

My friend's first car was an 88 Aries. Then after he jumped it and landed in somebody's backyard, he bought another one and he beat the hell out of it too. It served it's purpose...
