I have heard that Ferrari's have reliability problems such as F1 transmission and electronics. Is this true?

By First Gen F1 Transmission do you mean the F355 or the 1999 Modena?

Re: Actually I am selling my 3003 360!!

Hi Guys.

I just sold my modena 360 after 3 years of use . To be frankly. They give me 2 years warranty for it . The car after 2 years will start to be bad . in the first 2 years the only major problem i had is the F1 transmission which they change it for me under the warranty . After the 2 years ended and the warranty ended the car started really to act bad very bad. its like they know that the modena gonna act bad after 2 years. let me tell you an example. When i drive it for a day for example there is no doubt that the engine dies 3 or 4 times a day its not a problem with the idle its something else which i didnt figure .its funny when my car dies infront of my friends . Really bad situation .

i hated the car .but it was nice for the first 2 years .

Re: Re: Actually I am selling my 3003 360!!

I knew it. I heard about the F1 trans. problem too many times already from so many people so it must be a manufacturing fault.

Could it be because Ferrari factory workers are PUSHED AND always in a rush to get the cars ready in time since they have a backlog of orders and don't even deliver their cars until 2-3 years after it has been ordered. Still no excuse to do a proper job in the first please. Or is IT that the workers need thier CieSTA (Sleep in Italian!) during work hours?

Please do not get me wrong all you Ferrari lovers out there.

What I am trying to say is that the F1 transmission is derived from the F1 gearbox that the Ferrari F1 driver's M.S and R.B drive. Slightly but not greatly modified to meet the local buyer's needs.

So this means...................let us look at it from a Engineer's point of view.

The average track time for a F1 car driven by M.S. and R.B lasts about on an average 1-2 hours O.K.

Now all engineer's and U and ME know about THE WEAR and TEAR that a Road Car has to go through let ALONE a F1 car!!!

This means that all engineer's working on Ferrari's F1 cars must make sure that the WEAR on component lasts for at least 1-2 hours.

The TEAR must be so that it does not KILL ANY COMPONENTS FOR AT LEAST 1-2 HOURS.

SO IF THE F1 TRANS. ON 360 MODENA IS DERIVED FROM THE F1 UNIT FROM F1 CARS OF M.S AND R.B THEN WHERE DOES THE WHERE WEAR AND TEAR FACTOR LEAVE THE BUYERS OF THE 360 MODENA???????

WE ARE POTENTIAL BUYERS OF THE CAR WHO WANT TO OWN IT FOR A LONG TIME. WE DONT WANT TO TREAT IT LIKE A F1 CAR ON A RACE TRACK SUBJECT TO THE WEAR AND TEAR WEAR EQUATION WHICH IS ASSIGNED TO F1 CARS.

SO PLEASE FERRARI PLEASE COME OUT AND ADMIT THAT YOUR F1 TRANS. ON THE 360 MODENA IS ONLY DESIGNED TO LIMITED KM/MILE USE FOR RACETRACK PURPOSE AND NOT FOR LONG TERM use WITHOUT A VISIT TO YOUR SERVICE SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My opinion is that there are going to be cars that drive well forever, and those cars that just go to shit. I think its kinda like that from any car manufacturer.
