Re: Nitrous question plz help

depending on the shape of the motor you might need to rebuild the internals...nitrous will put extra stress on your motor similar to that of forced induction...if your motor is in good condition just dont spray the hell out of it and you should be ok...in time it will wear out the motor though

Re: Nitrous question plz help

ZEX is a good nitrous kit and many ppl with hondas run the 55-shot...as for burning oil vtec does burn oil but it shouldnt be anything overexcessive so you might have a problem there...and do you mean the purge cloud valve? if thats what your talking about than no its not needed

Re: Nitrous question plz help

How much oil you burn will also depend on how hard you drive your car. I used to wail on my car, redline it every day, and I burned about a quart of oil every oil change. I've calmed down quite a bit and typically keep the revs under 3k, while redlining the car maybe once a week, and I have burned less than an 1/8th of a quart at every oil change.

3 quarts sounds like a lot of oil to be burning (just from my experiences). Do you notice any blue-tinted smoke coming out the exhaust?

Re: Nitrous question plz help

well i wouldn't be introducing nitrous to a motor that burns 3 quarts every two months

i would fix the problem of the oil consumption and not beat on the car nearly as much unless its not your daily driver

He wasn't telling you how to drive. He was telling you how to keep your engine from blowing up if you put nitrous on it. Remember you are the one who asked us for advice.

Re: Nitrous question plz help

comming from someone who has blown a motor with the zex kit i will say that it is a very safe kit if you are careful, dont leave it armed if you arent using it, and dont abuse it (it will be more addictive than crack when you first install it) the 55 shot should be fine just bump back the timing a little and definatly check into that oil burning problem BEFORE you run hard on the bottle or you'll be shopin for a new motor...

ps. i deffinately do not condone the use of crack!!
