99Eclipse RS VS 90Trans-am

Hey guys im new to this website but i just wanted to post up that on saturdy im having a go at it with a 90 trans am firebird with my eclipse rs yea its an rs i know its was passed on to me buy a family member for free thats y its an rs i know i should get a gs-t or gsx but i just don't have that much money but yea this guy from work wants to race me hes a hater at dsm cars he hates imports and especially eclipses he told after he was trying to make fun of my car saying just cuz its an rs that even maybe a car with just 3 cylinders can beat and all that other bs. but yea hes the type thats all about muscle cars that there the best i mean i got nothing against muscle cars but again to me there the dsm compitition. he even has on the back of hes car a decal that says DSM KILLER now ill race him on sat so i hope it all goes good and im doing this race for all my dsm people this is for yall. i also live in dallas texas and im making a team almost done just need a few more people so if u want to join and live in dallas texas just hit me up. walbro 510 fuel pump with inline regulator
Apexi turbo timer, A/f guage,Battery meter.

JE 10:1 pistons
Fully machined over rods
Turbo gaskets
oversized skyline injectors
MSD plugs
Lightweight radiator fans

Umm, not to be discouraging or anything but the Trans Am is gonna beat you. He has at least 75hp on ya I think... I used to be all about Trans Ams too and they are pretty fast cars but GSX's and TSi's can be way faster. I still do want a Trans Am though. Anyways, good luck with it but don't hope for a win on this race.

I would do some more reading before you get very deep into that turbo set up. I wouldnt go with an 18g, I thought I remembered reading a bad review on one here. Walbro 510? Do you mean 255? I wouldnt get a battery meter, complete waste of $50 in my opinion. You'll need a boost guage and lots of people will tell you to get an EGT guage too. Dont worry about the weight of the radiator fans, the stock ones weigh maybe like 8 lbs anyway. IIRC Slimline ones pull more air accross and they are only half the thickness. Skyline injectors? Also 10:1 pistons is WAY to high for boost. I'd go between 8.0:1-9.0:1 . You are missing a bunch of stuff from that list, definately go hit the turboing an RS/GS sticky.

WOW, that was hard to read how about some punctuation and spaces. Anywaaay, sorry but you are toast. Its a shame too, because he is going to think that his car is fast and DSM's are slow. Bone stock 1990 TA lucky if he runs mid 15s in the 1/4.

Here was one I had. WS6 package, 350 TPI, NOT stock . The other one was mine too 97 formula 6spd NOT stock either.

Oh hey guys yea i know im gonna get toasted but u got to take risks ull never find out if u don't try i mean hes trans am is a base its not formula or nothing is regular like how my eclipse is regular to the gs-ts or gsx but owell oh and about the mods list some guy told me thats what ill need but iknow some stuff is messing and wrong thats not my list any have opinions or can tell exaclty what i need any could help.

depends on what motor it has in it, i have a 92 rs camaro and it is a 3ed gen, but even with a 305 he will beat you. There is 3 diffrent v8 engines in the 3d gen. There is the normal 305tbi with only 175hp stock but with headers and exhaust he would be EASYLY in the 200range. and there is the 305tbi H.0 which has 210hp, and there is the 350's and they have around the 260's range, all these engines can come with tpi instead of tbi but there is only like a 5-10 hp diffrence.

That's about it. Racing with a RS is pretty good learner car.
