no power

i have a 91 civic, i have no idea what size engine, well it's a 4cyl, 4 speed, fuel injected...no air..i bought it a couple of months ago,..it has almost 200 thousand miles on it...the problem is, i put at least 4 or 5 quarts of oil in it a week, and on occassion, when i stop, it would die and act like it wasnt gettin any gas, if you let it set for a minute , then restart it, it would run, it did this lil dying thing on me twice, so i figured it was the fuel filter, had the fuel filter changed and attempted to drive it home from work, and it would not go over like 45 mph...i lifted the hood, and noticed my overflow was empty and got to lookin for any broke hose, and it looked like antifreeze was coming out of the block, (i had a friend of mine also tell me , it had 2 much blow by?) is this car ready for the big junkyard in the sky?

Re: no power

Welcome to the forum. All you have to do is swap out that engine. You can find a smiliar engine for cheap. You currently have a d15b1 with a 4 speed tranny. If you would like an engine with more go while retaining the same dual point fuel injection (dpfi) then get a d15b2 which are also a dime a dozen for cheap. Everything will be the same but you may need a different ECU (PM5) to give a little more power. Or you could swap in a Multi-Point Fuel Injected (MPFI) si engine (d16a6) or just convert to MPFI and swap in a dohc engine, but that will require more stuff... mounts, linkage, etc. Don't just trash your car. If the body is still in good shape, you can do a lot with it.
