Drilled out injectors??

i gotta 97 LT1 and im doing a complete valve train swap. i was gonna get 30 pound injectors but the head mechanic for a Chevrolet dealership told me that that wasnt necesary. he said that all i had to do was get a little bigger drill orphus and just make the holes in the injectors bigger. he said that with the bigger holes alone more fuel would get into the engine. i was wondering if this little trick really worked or not. thanks!
