Re: Just got my new aveo

Welcome to the family......

I dont know what it is about this car, But I love it. It fits everywhere, sips on the gas, Its just HUGE inside.......Just hope it lasts a long time. Im gonna be bummed if this thing craps out at 60k or something like that. I want to get 200k out of it, and I pamper my vehicles, so if its worth a dam I should get close to that in miles.

well as long as you change the timing belt and maintain the car it can last 200,000 miles. theres a daewoo lanos in florida right now at like 199,000 miles on it. but thats with any car really.

Yes, be DARN sure to change your timing belt every 100,000km! (62,000 mi) The Aveo has an "interfering engine", which means that if the timing belt breaks, the valves will hit the piston and bend your valves. Which means you will have to replace your engine. We had one come in the shop a couple weeks back that had 120,000km (75,000mi) on it, the timing chain had broke, and costed the guy a new engine.
