Brake question

Well, I found out that my calipers are sticking, (eating through brakes like every 3 months, loud poping sound while making turns), also, im gonna have the rotors replaced. What I wanted to know is there anything else that I should replace since i'll have the front end in pieces (hopefully, not too many!) Also, is there a particular brand of rotors, calipers, or brakes that are better than the other.

Re: Brake question

semi metalic or ceramic pads. Cheap pads dont last long.

I'd buy a high quality rotors/pads from Napa , the zone has cheap ones and expensive ones, mostly they suck these days! They tend to be out of balance and cause unessesary vibrations.
There is a couple palces on the net where you can buy sloted high performance rotors that arent to expensive. I'll see if a can locate those...

The reason the calipers are not sliding is because the retainer bolts need to be greased(with brake grease) and the ends of the pads sometimes hang up on the caliper too.

You getting alot of groooves in the rotors also? Typical when the sliders are sliding freely.

Though You should be able to get brakes/rotors for aruond 200-250$ that will last years.

Power slot rotors are great, for the price. Work well with ceramic or metalic brake pads. Better than drilled rotors, they tend to crack around the holesdrilled.
Hope this helps
