on the z1motorsports website, for there downpipes it says you have to pull the tranny to install them,
my question is , do you really need to pull the tranny on installing a downpipe even if its not from z1?

Re: new downpipes
No, you can install any downpipe without pulling the transmission.
It's just a real pain in the ass. Look under your car and see how hard it is to get to your pre-cats. That will give you an idea of what you are in for.

Re: new downpipes
And upgrade the clutch and flywheel.
And a steel clutch line. And clutch pivot. And 4.10 rear gears. And a complete engine build. And a roll cage. And carbon fiber doors, hatch, and T-Tops. And replace the windows with lexan. And a flux capacitor.

speaking of lighter body panels and windows...i was looking at this idea the other day and i really would like to see the difference in weight. i was looking at the escort custom FRP doors and lexan panels. i think i may take it to someplace and weigh my car and then maybe the next time i do bodywork i may replace a few parts and see what the difference is. you think its worth the money...are you thinking about it? i am kinda scared to do the FRP doors and windshield just incase something ever happens and i get in an accident. hmm...more thinking.
