new downpipes

on the z1motorsports website, for there downpipes it says you have to pull the tranny to install them,

my question is , do you really need to pull the tranny on installing a downpipe even if its not from z1?

Re: new downpipes

No, you can install any downpipe without pulling the transmission.

It's just a real pain in the ass. Look under your car and see how hard it is to get to your pre-cats. That will give you an idea of what you are in for.

basically, what Z1 and Broke are trying to tell you is that, it is easier to pull the transmission, install them, then put everything back together. it would also be the perfect oppurtunity to put new trans fluid in your tranny.

Re: new downpipes

And upgrade the clutch and flywheel.

And a steel clutch line.

And clutch pivot.

And 4.10 rear gears.

And a complete engine build.

And a roll cage.

And carbon fiber doors, hatch, and T-Tops.

And replace the windows with lexan.

And a flux capacitor.

HEY HEY HEY...i stopped doing that.

speaking of lighter body panels and windows...i was looking at this idea the other day and i really would like to see the difference in weight. i was looking at the escort custom FRP doors and lexan panels. i think i may take it to someplace and weigh my car and then maybe the next time i do bodywork i may replace a few parts and see what the difference is.

you think its worth the money...are you thinking about it?

i am kinda scared to do the FRP doors and windshield just incase something ever happens and i get in an accident. hmm...more thinking.
