Hello All! Here we go, I took my Sport Trac to Auto Zone to have them read the code (Engine Light came on) the Autozone Rep. tells me its the EGR valve. I buy a new EGR valve engine light is still on. I removed the battery terminals to reset the light, it worked for about 1 day. Today I took apart the EGR Solenoid and cleaned it out, no dice Engine Light is still on (I even took the battery terminals off again to see if it would reset). Has anyone else had similar EGR issue's? Any help provided would be welcome, thanks!

Re: 2002 Sport Trac EGR issues
Hey man I have the same problem. I took my truck to an automotive place and the code read said the same as yours, EGR valve. Thankfully I did not go through and buy a new EGR valve. I talked to my budy who owns a auto salvage yard who talked to a friend at Ford Services who said ( I know alot about nothing) that they get the problem a lot, but its not the egr valve. Its the PFE sensor which monitors the EGR valve. The problem is that carbon builds up inn the hose running to the PFE valve causing problems. My buddy told me to spray carborator cleaner down hose to clean carbon out, and if that doesn't work to replace the sensor itself. New over a 100 dollars from a junk yard 20-40. Hope this helps. Sorry so long.
