Exhaust Question..

Ok so i have a fart cannon exhaust.. NOW i want to lite my farts...
I know it is possible to lite the exhaust because iv seen it done on hotrods and old cars. I have a gutted cat and cherry bomb muffler i burned out So its basically Straight through.
If i run a wire from the battery to a switch.. and then run the wire back to the exhaust tip on a spark plug... Will that spark light the exhaust?
If not, has anyone ever done this/ seen it done/ Maybe knows how to do it differently? I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars on the internet kit.. i dont have a credit card.. So any ideas would be great. Thanks-- Remington
