2002 GMC Sierra, Cruise & Cluster Lights out

I am trying to figure out a problem on my nephew's truck. He was trying to put in an aftermarket radio and had problems. He had cut the wires behind the radio plug. I soldered them all back, and we installed the original radio back in, but now the cruise control and dash cluster lights do not work. I have checked the fuses under the hood and on the drivers side of the dash, and they are okay. There is 12 volts to the fuse by the dash. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Re: 2002 GMC Sierra, Cruise & Cluster Lights out

I recently replaced my radio as well and had a similar problem. It ended up being a fuse. In the under the hood fuse box, there is a 15amp fuse. if you look at a fuse map in your owners manual, it will be the fuse marked "Radio". I replaced that fuse and everything began to work again. Good luck.
