Just for fun - a Zu ancestor?

Well, I'm throwing this out here for a bit of fun. I thought it was interesting that there are common "problems" we have with our Isuzus that are the same as I have with my really old ride. Hope you enjoy it!

This is sort of an off-road vehicle, definitely a 4 speed 4 banger (though 1 speed is reverse); engine does have a little tick & burns some oil; cooling problems are limited to a minor radiator & bit of a water pump leak (I'm sure I'll leak when I'm 96), but these issues are easily handled by adding H2O / Prestone to the radiator; no tranny fluid dip stick, so that is really hard to check (sound familiar?); lights work (sometimes) but are brightest when kerosine or carbide is full in the tank; CEL has never come on but is described in the manual as a bright light in the engine compartment requiring the services of the local Fire Department; ABS only works when all passengers have new shoes and apply them to the pavement simultaneously to slow/stop the vehicle; starting the vehicle is by manual cranking...since I'm getting old, this makes the engine harder to turn over every year - cranking isn't a problem when you're 20, but does challenge one as you get older. Starter (me) probably needs to be replaced; fuel tank location is in poorly designed location (under the front seat) and gas gauge requires a special tool (wooden stick) to measure. (it is not advisable to smoke while checking the gasoline level - please note the concerns regarding the CEL above); windshield wiper (wife) whines when in operation and the fluid doesn't get sprayed evenly. (Though this is an annoyance, I would not recommend replacing the wiper.) There is no known solution for this problem. So far, these are the only known complications with this vehicle.

Special features of this automobile include full-time a/c, solid wood dash, brass fittings, convertible top, cruise control (also called a speed lever in the day), adjustable carb/spark regulator, power converter switch (battery to magneto), leather seats and roof, lap robe & brass rail for robe storage, "side curtains" in the event of rain, tool box & spare tire.

Here is a link to a couple of better pics (I have a couple more if wanted):
