1989 chysler Lebaron 2.5 turbo convert. wont turn over
Ok,
here I am again, same car from previous post about amp gauge pegs out ( I changed the SMEC, and the voltage problem is fixed). I went out yesterday morning, put the key in the ignition and tried to start it, but nothing happens, not even a klick sound, like the solinoid was trying to engage. The instruments all come on, but when I turn the key to start, the radio, and heater lights go off, and the emergency brake light comes on. I tried to get codes but none were set. It seems like the starter solinoid is not getting power, but the night before everything was fine. Please help. Thank you. Mark |

My car is doing the exact same thing and I have no idea what it is. I have tried the changing out the starter and the ignition coil. Did you figure out what it was on yours?

May be a problem with your brakes. See how they are when you pump it once. If it goes to the floor easy, that's your problem. I know there is some kind of failsafe that has to do with e-brake light comin on and not being able to move your car, but the reason escapes me at the moment.

If there is no click from the solinoid, it might be bad or broken. I had the same problem.
