Speaker sizes

I have a 2006 Aveo hatchback. I want to replace the speakers on it I am putting in an Alpine deck. I had some speakers given to me also. A Boston Acoustics 6x9's, and Polk 5.25's. I figure I will have to do some modification since they are obviously larger then the factory speakers. Does anyone know if it will work? Thanks

Re: Speaker sizes

I got the 5.25's to fit perfectly I built a mount for it out of plywood. Made two rings out of 3/4" plywood. One ring to mount to the sheetmetal of the door the other to house the speaker and mount to the other ring. Worked great. Got some infinity 4x6 plate speakers for the rear and a 50x4 Kicker amp, infinity basslink II in the back for some bump. Eclipse deck. Sounds a million times better then the factory radio.

Re: Speaker sizes

did you use anything to enclose the speaker from the open door panel...

you will notice your car is a boom box when your outside the vehicle, and the speakers are much louder when enclosed.
