Re: Axles

Dana 30 in the front, and either a dana 35 or dana 44 in the rear.

Re: Axles

if it's an i6 it has the d35c

if it's a v8 it has the d44a.

a d44 and a d44a ARE NOT the same rear ends..

Re: Axles

Not all V8's have the Dana 44

My 94 ZJ has a D35 and it has a V8 (5.2L). I dunno maybe that was the only option on the V8 models on WJ's.

Re: Axles

some 4.0 's were actually built with quadradrive,so they did come with a 44 but those are kind of rare.also I am not sure if it was just certain years.also the difference is a real dana 44 is cast iron, the 44a is an aluminum housing.they actually went to that in 96,so 93-95 v-8s did come with a d35,a 44 was not an option.
if you really want to be technical,Chrysler now calls a 30 a 186fbi,a 35 is a 198 rbi and an aluminum 44 is a 226rba.In a tj ,an iron 44 is a 216rbi or if its in the front like on a Rubicon it is a 216 fbi and they call a 30 a 181fbi.Supposedly the number means the ring gear size in mm, f is front,r is rear and i is iron and a obviously is aluminum.kind of useless info,I know.

Re: Axles

I thought the D35 was a 194 RBI?
I may be mistaken.
