Re: type r motor

yeah, its def not a type r engine, for one its a sohc engine and being that, im pretty sure its a d16y8 because of the intake manifold. so the car is probably just a civic ex. and what do you mean whats missing, i dont see anything missing from the car? explain further.

Re: type r motor

if you look at the left side of the engine by the throtle body there are some hoses not hooked, there is something missing.. This car is a salvage yard and I am thinking of getting it, I went to look at started it up ran for a sec and then shut down.. I figure it's gata be missing something, it looks that way in the pic...

Re: type r motor

the big blue and silver CIA is in some of the pic and not others- its a pipe...

just because it has a red cover over the head does not mean it is suppost to look like a type r. its just a little flash. if you know anything you would be able to easily recognize it as a SOHC

the front bumper has made to have a huge intercooler sticking out of it. but there is a lack of a turbo.

it is an "apc" peace of shit.
it would not be shit if it had a nice big intercooler sticken out and a turbo to go with it.
if it added a few stickers and NOS set covers it might be fast. atleast 300 whp

Re: type r motor

It's definately not a Type R motor, it's like putting a ferrari emblem on a civic.
I'm confused, you say you want to get the car but in your sig you say it is your car. It's hard to tell what's missing in the picture. Maybe it's just some vacuum hoses... Anyways, the whole car is ugly. I wouldn't drive that piece of crap if my life depended on it.

Re: type r motor

To clarify - Those are 2 different cars. The first pic is the one he's questioning, the other pics have nothing to do with what he wants to know.

It's missing an intake. From that tiny ass, far away pic, that is all anyone will be able to tell.

Re: type r motor

ok, so you discovered the intake is gone. which would probably mean a vacuum line is off, which could be why it stalled on you. you have another civic. if you have a sohc in your civic, why dont you take your car down there and compare. im sure youll notice if anythign important is missing, and even if you dont have the same engines, as long as you dont have an si, everything will probably be pretty much the same so good luck and have fun!
