Re: gt vs. gt1 question

what year is your GA for starters?
But if you hav the window sticker, or the book that came with the car, it should say oneway or the other.
Not a big differance anyway, mostly trim.

Re: gt vs. gt1 question

I'm not positive on the horsepower, but my 2000 GT1 has leather seating, and a six-way power drivers seat. Also steering wheel radio controls (which I love!) I don't know too much about horsepower, so I cannot comment on that. My car is staying all Pontiac stock equipment so I don't really know a heck of a lot about performance and horsepower...

Tommy

EDIT>> I just looked through my 2000 Pontiac literature, and those steering wheel radio controls were stamdard on a GT1, and not available on a GT; even as an option. They were only optional on a SE2 in the 2000 model year. I am not certain about later years though....

Re: gt vs. gt1 question

My 99 SE2 has those radio controls on the steering wheel and I luv them too!
If you read the GT1 has 5 more hp and 10 more ft lbs of torque that sounds about right. Not a big noticable differance, but it is more, and more is better.

Re: gt vs. gt1 question

There really isn't a engine/horsepower difference between the GT and GT1. They both put out about 175 horses the SE puts out about 170 horses. The many differences are either appearance or "creature comforts" The GT1 will come with the Chrome Rims, Optional Leather seats, Power driver seat, Steering wheel radio controls and sunroof. The GT does not come with most of these items, Some do have them as an add on like a power package or moon and tunes.... I normally can tell by the rims, if they are chrome it's a gt1 if it's aluminum then it's a GT
