Engine controller

Hey,

I just bought a '03 Durango RT. I'm looking to see if my Mopar Performance PCM out of my '99 Durango wiil work in my new RT. Both are the 5.9 engines however looking online and in the '05 Performance catalog the latest 5.9 engine controller I can find states it's for '99. Wondering if anyone has any information on whether or not it will work.

The part # for the controller is P05007111.

The main concern I have is in the "information center" also the fulltime Awd as well as onboard diagnostics???

Any information would be useful Thanks

Re: Engine controller

Most controllers aren't even compatible year to year. I would say that it probably is not compatible. In 2001 most Mopars added the security feature that the VIN# of the Engine controller had to match that of the BCM and security module. If any one of them don't match, the Engine Controller won't alllow the engine to run. In the event of replacing any one of the computers, the dealer has to enter the VIN# into the replacement part.

Re: Engine controller

Thanks for you're input, I've been looking around and it looks like the last year that Mopar Performance made a controller for would be a 2001 Durango. It also states that it is not for use on the R/T. I want more power any suggestion other than normal bolt on K/N is a given.
