rear air suspension jacking up with no weight in back?

ok so not that long ago my compressor gave out and i had to have it replaced. i had it replaced 20,000 miles after the air bags were replaced. what i have been noticing ever since i got the car back is with no weight in the back, the rear end tends to inflate somewhat. the compressor probably runs for about 15 seconds and thats about it. i mean the rear end looked slightly elevated but it looked pretty normal. and when i shut the car off it lets the air out of the rear no problem for about 5-8 seconds and then stops. is it normal for the compressor to be running every time i start the car? like i said, the bags and the compressor have been replaced just recently. there is no leak. believe me, when you go out and have 6 people in the car every weekend, you think i would notice if there was a leak. the car picks itself up no problem and holds the air constantly. so is it normal for the compressor to run for a short time when i start the car and lift the rear slightly. this happens every time i start the car.

Re: rear air suspension jacking up with no weight in back?

The compressor running at startup is part of the power-up self test.

As for the ride height level, you might need to adjust the sensors. There's one in front, and two in back. This may cause adverse effects while parked, so adjust them in small increments, testing the effect after each adjustment.

There's an adjustment scale somewhere showing how much sensor movement = how much ride height change, but I can't remember where I saw it -- maybe in the Service CD.
