Which performance mod to do?!?!

Ok, tax return time. I was thinking of changing my gears to 3.73. My car has a stock 4L60E tranny in it, what are the stock gears on that? Will I notice a big difference?

I was thinking of doing that + a tune for all my mods, will I be seeing a big difference?

Re: Which performance mod to do?!?!

you'll hafta look at your rpo sheet to find out what your stock gear ratio is. if you have 3.42, you'll notice a bit of a difference, if you have 2.73, you'll notice a LOT of difference.

Re: Which performance mod to do?!?!

GU2 : AXLE REAR, 2.73 RATIO
GU4 : AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 : AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 : AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
most likely it will be one of these

Re: Which performance mod to do?!?!

Where are you guys getting this done? I just asked one shop and he said it would be $600-$1200 and I called Aamco and they told me $881! I thought this was a $300-$400 job tops! Also, what do I say when asking if they do it. Is it the differential gears?

Why not do it yourself? Theres a few members here that have done it themselves so you'd get some help there, and it'll cost you nothing except some time.
