wiring tweeters

i want to install some horn tweeters in my trunk to go with my subs. is it ok to simply tap my sub wire to power them. im pretty sure they have internal crossovers. will this lower the ohms? is there a better way to wire them? any suggestions will help

NOOOOOO!

Don't do it man! First off, horn tweets sound like crap! Another thing is, your imaging is gonna be thrown waaaaay off. I put a couple of 2" tweets on my windshield pillars, and they sound great, the imaging is pretty good (could be better), and best of all, it was VERY easy to wire, and they're almost unnoticable.

I guess that didn't exactly answer your question - sorry. Don't put tweets in the trunk! Back dash?... maybe. Front dash?... even better. I dunno how much you know about imaging, but you want to try to get the distance from each speaker to the driver's ears as equal and clear as possible. That's proper imaging - instead of that funky sound you get from your surround-sound system that sounds like the music is coming from twenty different places. A friend of mine hid a couple of 2" x 2" tweets in his vents in the front, and - though the vents didn't work very well - , it looked and sounded great. I guess it all depends on what size tweets you're trying to use. Hope I helped somewhat ---- Later -----
