Are they going to replace the GTP with this G-Force concept? Some kind of supercharged 280 hp Grand Prix?

Can't wait to see what the GTO gets. That would be hilarious if they end up giving it like 395 hp just enough to beat the new Cobra. Haha Ford would be pissed. Later.

Hey straight from the GM web site:

Engine: All-aluminum 5.7L Gen III LS1 V8 (350hp/365 lb-ft torque)

So it's a bit short of out powering the Cobra, but I think that it's two different markets. The Cobra is probably more sport / performance, while I figure the GTO as more luxury / performance.

i think the new gto's are weak. they are trying to sell the car with the name, sure it might sound great but when it comes down to performing it just doesn't put up the numbers in my opinion that it should. and has anybody ever seen the trunk, i mean what's the point to put maybe 4 bags of groceries?

i don't understand how stuffing a ls1, and a 6-speed, into a little pocket rocket is going to be weak. there's so much aftermarket stuff out there for the ls1, how easy is it going to be to go from 350hp to 450hp or even 650hp. i can understand that at first the numbers on paper might not be as good as the mustang but the 'stang has been around more lately. just take a look at this site www.lingenfelter.com.
