89 Ciera Cutlass Interior and other problem!
Hello, this is my first time posting on thus cool site!
Okay my interior ceiling fabric is about to fall. How can I got about fixing it or replacing it, because am sick of putting staples and dump takcs to hold it up. Also, when i drive, once i go over 70 mph or more, the car starts to rattle real fast, but it still moves. I know I need 3 tires and brake pads. But could there be something else wrong? Thanks for the help guyd.

Welcome to AF!!
To replace the fabric on the headliner you will need to take it down. This takes a special tool that is available for less than $10 at a parts store. Once you take the headliner out lay it flat and remove the old fabric. Clean the old padding off the cardboard with a wire brush and then prepare the new fabric. You can cut it to size first or wait until after it is glued down just make sure to leave enough to lap over the sides. Spray the cardboard and then the fabric and gently push it down from one end to the other smoothing it as you go. Make sure to put the fasteners in the cardboard before you put the fabric on since it will hold them in place. You can purchase practically any color headliner fabric you want on-line. As for the vibration this sounds like a tire but it could be a bad CV joint since it only occurs at a certain speed. Get them checked but at this point I would get the new tires and then get them balanced. If it is only tires the vibration should go away.

As for the tires good used ones are acceptable and are much cheaper than new ones. Make sure to have them properly balanced though. If the tires don't correct the issue you will need to check the axle shafts for bad CV joints.

No, the insulation has broken down and is causing it to droop, it will need to be replaced. You will need new fabric. The contact cement is available at just about any automotive parts store.

Just make sure to take your time and smooth out everything. If you rush it will look terrible. And make sure to use the trim tool to remove the head liner or you will damage it and the fasteners.

I had this happen -- the headliner dropped about 75% -- and just propped it up with some interior parts from a good yard from full-sized GM RWD Station Wagons (Chevy Caprice, Buick, Etc) as they have a plastic support that works well for a "stop-gap" measure.
I know it looks like hell...but until I can properly take it all down & redo it, it'll have to do. - Ray -
