winshield washer hose routing??

Hey,

I've got a 97 taurus, and I need to replace the hose from the spray motor to the hood. My problem is that the hose goes from the hood and dissapears behind/into the strut tower and I don't know where it goes from there.

There is a metal line that a rubber hose plugs onto down lower in the body that looks like it might be coming from the pump, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know if that could be the right thing?

I just don't know where it ends up after it hides.

Thanks in advance.

Anybody? I've got the Haynes manual, but it never actually has what I "need" in it.

Re: winshield washer hose routing??

I looked at a picture of the hose and washer bottle, can't really tell from it exactly where it goes within the strut tower, looks like it wraps around the top inner part of the strut tower, picture is not clear I'm guessing at the routing.. looks like the hose comes down from the hood around the strut tower to a piece they call a windshield washer hose adapter, which connects to the hose within the strut tower, looks like it runs within the fender, coming out near the pump... best I can do.

The hose does go to the right wheel well. That is where the washer bottle is. The hose goes to the washer pump that is in the washer bottle. You can also cut and the hose and patch a piece of hose into it instead of opening up your wheel well. If you use a vacuum hose connector inline it will work.

Re: winshield washer hose routing??

Thanks for the replys! I was going to tear it appart and try to fix it this weekend, but the weather took a turn for the nasty this morning. I went through two bottles of water trying to keep my window clean this morning, and finally gave in and took it into a local garage. Turns out that the nozzles were clogged! They blew them out with some compressed air and it's good to go again.
