Any Ideas On Convertable Tops

I was wondering if any of you had problems with your convertable tops and had to get them replaced. What is the going price with labor and who do you recommend in doing it. I know I am staying away from the dealership as they want almost $1800 to replace it. I did find a guy who would change it with the exact same thing that the dealership was going to get for around $1000. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Any Ideas On Convertable Tops

I had mine replaced by a local shop after some idiot in Fresno, CA decided to slice it open without taking anything inside. It is as good as the original. Just remember the liner is a separate part and is only available from the dealership. You top guy can get it for you. My total was $1600 for both. The liner was about $300-$400.
