1990 Truck rough Acceleration

305 Chevy pickup with a throttle body, very rough acceleration when you try to increase the speed. Worse when cold, better when warm. Takes for ever to get up to speed especially getting to highway speeds and decreases power on hills. Any suggestions on what this could be?? I was thinking a vacumn advance of sorts. The engine has about 250k miles on it, all highway miles. Thanks!!

it also could be your timing if it isn t smack dab on it won t accell verry , older motors usually run good between 6- degrees be for compression well there is alot of possabilities you should also check your fuel pressure and see how clean ur injectors are and make sure all vacuums are on were they should be and if ur coil isn t putting out enough juice then you won t get a full combustian check all the little things befor doin anything major, and good luck with your truck man

Take a look at the throttle body gasket. My 350 acted like that and the gasket was shot.
