QTP vs. Kooks

Been lookin around now that I finally can afford the exhaust setup I want and am still trying to figure out which headers i want. I know im going to go with one of the two... probably, lol.... but can't figure out which. I was wondering if you guys had any experience with these headers or heard if one is better than the other or what. In looking at the websites and all that they seem like they are the premier headers but wanted some input. Just lookin for some info and suggestions on them.

Thanx,
Chris

Re: QTP vs. Kooks

My bad... 2000 LS1, have some of the basic bolt ons and suspension work done but will eventually be doing bore/stroke along with heads, intake manifold etc.

Re: QTP vs. Kooks

How much you plan on boring it??

Kooks = QTP
I went Kooks. QTP are said to be the exact same design. Whichever is cheaper.
Stainless works is tops though.

Re: QTP vs. Kooks

haven't heard anything about the stainless works, are they really that much better? If they are so similar anybody know which would sound better? I'm going to be using some sort of strait through muffler strait off the header (no cats, dump before rear axel) and looking for loudness, not annoying sound like crap loud but a real deep sound that is loud.

Probably lookin to bore it out to around a 4.1 diameter.... I'm still toying with the idea of building a whole new motor for it over time but in the mean time i've got to work with what i've got.

4.100?? Good luck.
That is a .202 increase in bore. Gonna cost a TON! Would need sleeved at the very least.

Re: QTP vs. Kooks

that is a chunk of metal to cut out guy...but more power to ya! My friend got his jet hot longtube headers on his 98z with a mac ory and no cats with an slp catback on it. You want loud? thats the setup that will wake up everyone a block around. It gave his some good top end power. Going down the road it just screams!!....thats why im getting an ls1.

LS1 block won't allow much more than .010 to be taken out without getting it re-sleeved.

Re: QTP vs. Kooks
